The historical epic by director Mani Ratnam Ponnyin Selvan: I broke the Rs 325 crore mark worldwide after eight days of release, according to a report from India Today quoting commercial analyst Trinath. The versatile star also achieved some notable milestones at the international box office. The film’s budget was controversial, with some suggesting that the original figure of Rs 500 crore was split into two parts.
PS: I’m currently the second Tamil film in history to gross more than $5 million (Rs 41 crore) at the US box office, after Shankar 2.0. It is also the first Tamil film to gross over A$1.5 million and over £1 million in the UK. The Hindi version of the film has collected around Rs 14 crore so far, and is expected to end its run with around Rs 20 crore.
On second Friday, the film was reported to have grossed around Rs 9 crore across all languages, according to tracking website Sacnilk. The series reached a total capacity of about 45% on its eighth day of release.

This is only the fifth Tamil film in history to earn over Rs 300 crore worldwide, after Kabali, Enthiran and Vikram 2.0.
