Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi’s GodFather pitcher recently got off to a strong start at the box office. The film, which also has strong appeal to the Hindi language belt, with Salman Khan’s extended appearance, grossed almost Rs 70 crore in 2 days. After three days of earnings, the film is expected to surpass Rs 100 crore worldwide.
Godfather, directed by Mohan Raja, stars Chiranjeevi, Satyadev and Nayanthara in the lead roles. The film is a Telugu remake of the Malayalam film Lucifer. Speaking to indianexpress.com, trade analyst Sumit Kadel said, “After opening 19 crore nett on Wednesday, GodFather saw a drop on Thursday and Friday taking in Rs 12.5. crore and Rs 8.70 crore. Movies are expected to trend up on Saturday and Sunday, although the growth isn’t huge. I predict the movie will hit Rs 20-25 crore in the next two days across India.
The film’s producers have previously shared that they have added 600 screens in the Hindi belt.
